What is CBD 5/25/20

What is CBD and how does it work in your body?

CBD is the most common non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis.

CBD, the most common non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis is the perfect counterpart to the plant’s most psychoactive and well-known cannabinoid, THC.

CBD’s non-psychoactive properties have made it incredibly popular, and it’s easy to see why.  Many people have found great relief from this therapeutically potent cannabinoid. The non-psychoactive effects of CBD also make it appealing to many people interested in trying cannabis for the first time.

Stress, Inflammation and Pain, and Sleep

At Solful we find the most common reasons people turn to CBD are, Stress (ongoing and sudden onset) Inflammation and Pain (muscular and nerve), and Sleep (when combined with THC and other cannabinoids) but the potential benefits don’t stop there.

How does CBD work in your body?

Your endocannabinoid system keeps your body in balance.

Your endocannabinoid system plays a crucial role in your health and happiness by helping your body maintain homeostasis.

From energy level and mood to immune activity and blood pressure, your endocannabinoid system helps in countless ways. Introducing cannabinoids, say hello to CBD and THC, can help balance this system. Both CBD and THC are said to have therapeutic benefits, but they interact very differently with both your brain and body.

How do I know what ratio I need?

CBD:THC ratios range from 30:1 to 1:3, and finding the right ratio to bring balance to your body is important.

When shopping for CBD products at a licensed cannabis dispensary you’ll find CBD is available in various ratios ranging from 30:1 to 1:3.

Products with a higher amount of CBD to THC typically have lower psychoactive effects. Understanding CBD:THC ratios is important, and you’ll want to find a ratio that’s right for you to balance your endocannabinoid system.

Know your dose.

CBD is typically listed before THC on product labels, which is important to know for dosing. If a product is 18:1 that often means that it has 18 parts CBD to every 1 part THC. But there are still labeling inconsistencies in cannabis, so be sure to read the label closely and always ask if you have questions about dosing.

With so many different ratios available, which one do I choose?

Some CBD:THC ratios may help you feel alert and boost mood, while others may make you feel sleepy.

It’s important to understand the potential effects of various ratios, but always remember that everyone’s body is different and no two people feel the same effects from cannabis.

18:1 Good for daytime use, for people that are new to cannabis, and for those looking to avoid any psychoactive effects. Typically non-psychoactive.

8:1 Good for daytime use, and for people looking to minimize mood-altering effects. Typically not psychoactive.

4:1 Good for daytime or nighttime use. Depending on the dose and your tolerance for THC, you may experience mild psychoactive effects.

1:1 Good for nighttime use. This ratio may be psychoactive and may cause sleepiness.

CBD without THC.

Have you heard of the “Entourage Effect”?

Early research has shown that full-spectrum products, CBD products made from the whole cannabis plant rather than isolated CBD, offer greater results.

Cannabis contains several hundred compounds including cannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes. Many of these compounds have shown to offer their own unique healing effects, but early research has shown that when combined the therapeutic impact is much greater.
